Joe and Demi are Dating! (A.K.A Why Are there So Many Fake Couples?)

Standard

So the rumours have been confirmed that Joe and Demi are dating. Now I am I the only one who remember that when Camp Rock came out there was a bunch of hype about the two of them dating and now when Camp Rock 2 is coming around they’re dating again.

Now the first time around Demi did deny it but that didn’t stop thousands of youtubers making Jemi videos and I am sure they are all over the moon right now. However its my thought that this is a set up to promote their movie/new music video. Until I see a photo of them kissing or at least holding hands I won’t believe it, how about you?

As I thought about the whole Joe/Demi situation I thought about fake couples in general and how much they annoy me. Its my belief that love is scared and shouldn’t be fake. I’ve had friends who have been in relationships because it was convinent, because it just felt like they should be together or to help them achieve something.

In Hollywood its even worse many actor/actresses say they’re in relationships just to promote their upcoming projects. I think that’s wrong, every relationship should be treasured as something important. Why do people feel the need to be in a fake relationship? Well the truth is I know why people choose to be in fake relationships because they’re afraid to be alone.

However its better to be single and wait for the treasured relationship than just be with someone because you can. A good honest healthy relationship is worth way more than tons of fake ones. Do you agree? This blog post was more of a rant then anything else but I just wanted to share.  So let me know what you think. Are Joe and Demi really dating? Would you rather be in an instant fake relationship or wait for a real one?

Let me know and God Bless,

The NEW Official Eclipse Trailer! Good or Bad?

Standard

So I was browsing though YouTube the other day when I happened to stumble across the Eclipse trailer, at first I thought it was just another fanmade trailer but it turns out it was the official one! As you may know from reading my blog I am a pretty big Twilight series fan and a huge Jacob fan. So when I saw the trailer I was pretty darn excited but before I go into what I thought of the new trailer, you should probably watch it. So here it is =]

What did you think? Good or bad? In general I was pretty disappointed for numerous reasons but here are some of my top reasons.

1. Bella/Kristens Hair

Is she wearing  a wig? I am not sure if she is but just the fact that I am wondering if she is probably means she is. Well her wig is horrible, it looks fizzy and very unlike her natural hair. So I have issues with that, as someone who as worked on hair/makeup if you’re about to release a national trailer you should fix the actress’s wig.

2. Where is the Wolf Pack?

So if you’re read Eclipse you know that the Wolf Pack has a pretty big important role to play in the story but in the trailer we don’t see them or the cullens for that matter.  Also in eclipse more wolves are added, like Leah and Seth so I would have liked to see them.

3. VICTORIA!

Now I know they went and changed the actress for Victoria which really ticks me off. However why would you focus on her in the trailer when she know looks completely different! Victoria does have a big part to play in the story but she isn’t actually in the book that much. It’s what happens in Seattle that makes the big difference. So yeah Victoria just annoyed me in general.

4. Seattle, Jacob and The Love Triangle

We get it, Bella is confused about who she wants to kiss. Why does that have to be the focus of the trailer? When the book has such a good storyline why focus on the stupid love triangle? Where is the information about the vampire murders in Seattle and why isn’t Jacob with his pack? I know everyone wants to see the silly love triangle but it annoys me when its such a good book that they choose to focus on that! I wanted to see the vampire army, Jasper kicking butt and the new wolves. But alas Hollywood is marketing to the fourteen year old girls and so we get stuck with the love triangle.

So those are the things I find annoying but the one thing I did like about it was when Jacob said “I am gonna fight for you until your heart stops beating”. He is of course referring to Bella being turned into a vampire not her actually dieing but it was still a really sweet line. I am hoping they will release a longer trailer later with the wolves, vampire army, Jasper and more but until they do I was pretty disappointed with this first trailer.

What do you think? Did you love it? Hate it? Or are you just tired of the whole Twilight thing already? Let me know and until next time,

God Bless,

Ode to Alice

Standard

Today is the release of the new movie ‘Alice in Wonerland’, personally I can’t wait to see it and I was going to see it today but my sister insisted we watched Valentines Day so my view of Alice in Wonderland will have to wait.

However with the release of this fun new movie, I wanted to discuss the character of Alice or more specifically heroines in general.  As a writer Heroines are quite fun to create because throughout history we have lived in a man’s world and as women we tend to be a tad more emotional.  When a woman stands up for what they believe in, it tends to dramatic, non traditional and unexpected.

So in honour of Alice I wanted to share with you some of my favourite movie heroines of all time.  Check out my list and let me know what you think and the list is in no particular order (in case you were wondering).

Mulan

Mulan was especially awesome. Brought up in a society where women were simply expected to marry Mulan pretended to be a boy so she could take her father’s place in the army. She took that place to save her father’s life. Now in the Disney version she goes off to become a national hero and land herself a cute captain. I am not sure how true that is to legend but either way Mulan was a pretty kick butt heroine.

Guinevere

Being an english girl the story of King Arthur is pretty much a part of my heritage. There are many stories of Arthur and Guinevere but my favourite is from the 2004 movie King Arthur. In this version Guinevere is part of the Woads, the true britons who are resisting invasion from the Romans and Saxons. King Arthur rescues her from a prison but once she is out she is pretty darn strong. She proves to be an expert archer and helps protect Arthur’s men. When it comes to the final battle she puts on her body paint, finds her fellow Woads and with Arthur’s knights takes down the Saxons. I like this version of Guinevere because it shows her as she probably was, a woman fighting for her country and not a complete damsel in distress. If you haven’t seen the 2004 movie King Arthur I suggest you watch it.

Eowyn

Eowyn is a character from Lord of the Rings, perhaps one of the best pieces of writing in history. In the books as in the movies Eowyn is the niece to the King Theoden. She is what they called a Shield Maiden trained to fight for her people however she is the last of her king and due to her King’s illness she cannot  fight. Eowyn has a great love for her King, her people and country. After her King is healed, she defys all the rules and fights for Rohan anyway. In the last battle she even kills the Witch King, a nazgul one supposedly couldn’t be killed. Even though she loses her uncle and Aragon does not return her love not all hope is lost for Eowyn. If you read the books she goes on to rule her people for a time and then marry Farameir. With their union Gondor and Rohan were joined. So it all worked out in the end but it was her courage that led her to defy tradition, ride to battle and claim her glory.

Those are just a few of my favourite heroines, there are many more I could write about but those are some of the top ones for me. What did you think? Do you like my Heroines or Hate them? Let me know and if you’ve seen Alice in Wonderland please let me know what it was like. I hope you enjoyed this random post and you can look forward to more in the near future as I plan to blog my way through my next book.

Until next time, be blessed, stay strong and never give up,
